How mentoring is different from coaching

Coaching helps you find your own answers through structured work and introspection. Mentoring is about knowledge transfer, for when you don't have the answers yet and need someone with the experience to share them. In coaching, I ask the questions. In mentoring, I share what I've learned, offer frameworks, and think through with you whether the solutions you're considering will work in your context.

What I mentor on

People and team, culture and values, communication, leadership, high performance, and health habits.
I work with people building these from scratch, as well as those navigating specific challenges within them.

Who this is for

Senior professionals and (first-time) team leaders who want experienced guidance on specific challenges or during a transition, such as:

  • Stepping into your first team leadership role

  • Building a people function, culture, values, or processes from scratch

  • Navigating a challenging period (a strained relationship, an ongoing team situation, a new role)

  • Punctual and specific support (a difficult conversation, a hard decision, a tricky situation)

 

How it works

Some people book a couple of sessions to think through one specific topic. Others work with me over six to twelve months, meeting weekly or biweekly, especially when transitioning into a new role or taking on significantly more responsibility. Sessions are 60 minutes, held online, with the option to meet in person if you're in Barcelona. I mentor both through established programs and with private clients directly.
