Go the extra mile; it’s never crowded.
One of my favorite guiding principles. The issue is that this ‘extra mile’ is rough, challenging, and often little rewarding in the beginning. I guess that’s why so many people skip it and instead play it safe.
But without effort rarely comes success. However, this success is the reward of leaving your comfort zone. As daring as it might be, if you want to achieve greatness, you have to look for it outside your comfort zone.
LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT leaving my comfort zone:
I was born, raised, and educated in Berlin. Having growth and learning engrained in my DNA, it was no surprise that Berlin felt a little too small at some point.
So I decided to pack my big suitcase and explore the world. In the past 15 years, my professional journey brought me to Stockholm, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Madrid, and finally, Barcelona, my new home. During this time, so far out of my comfort zone, I built on my talents of being intuitive, creative, curious, and analytical and explored my ample passion for psychology and human behavior: What drives us, holds us back, and what do we need to thrive and excel in our lives and careers.
So, following my talents and passion, I focus my career on people and how to help them maximize their potential. Leadership development, with a special focus on for first-time Founders/CEOs, is one of the two main pillars within this focal area. And a demanding one, too.
Human beings are highly complex, and their success depends on a multitude of aspects: Their health, habits, mindset, private life, and work life. You rattle one of these, and the whole construct gets out of balance.
In other words, maximizing someone’s potential and helping them to become a great leader is not about teaching another skill but understanding and supporting the person in their entireness and current life circumstances. And this is where being a certified coach does the magic trick: Having the knowledge and professional tools to be someone‘s sparring partner, advisor, and sounding board, ensuring clarity and confidence around their goals, makes the difference to ignite their motivation to ‘go the extra mile’ that ultimately leads to success.
As a professional who knows leadership from various angles - having been an individual contributor, team lead, part of management, and an entrepreneur - I understand what it takes to be a leader and what people expect from one. Through my experience as a coach and leader, I empathize with my clients, meeting them at their level to accompany them on their personal leadership journey.
Because leadership is a journey, not a destination. And I would be thrilled to be part of yours. Let’s talk!
